Covid-19 SOP violations in viral video never happened, says S'gor police chief

KUALA LUMPUR: A 19-second viral video, which appears to show a crowd of people failing to comply with Covid-19 standard operating procedure (SOP), did not occur at either GM Klang or Kompleks PKNS in Shah Alam.

Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Arjunaidi Mohamed (pic) said the architecture and design of the building in the video was different compared to the design of the two buildings.

"Contrary to what is claimed in the video, it did not occur at the two locations.

"We studied the footage and the building portrayed in the video did not match the design of either buildings.

"We also checked both buildings and we discovered there was no breach of Covid-19 SOP at both locations," he said when contacted on Sunday (May 9).

Comm Arjunaidi advised the public not to jump to conclusions based on videos or messages spread by irresponsible parties.

"Don't spread unverified news as it can create confusion among the masses," he added.

He said Selangor police will step up patrols and monitoring at all locations of public interest to ensure that SOP was adhered to.

"Combatting Covid-19 is a battle that must be fought together. Let us work together to break the chain of infections," Comm Arjunaidi said.
