Jasin MCA to continue giving aid to needy even if there is total MCO

MELAKA: Jasin MCA will continue to distribute humanitarian aid to the needy even if a full-scale movement control order (MCO) is enforced.

Division chief Koh Chin Han (pic) said food kits comprising edible items worth between RM80 and RM100 each would be given to the recipients.

"We have distributed food kits to almost 140 locals since the start of the MCO 3.0 and this initiative will continue as long as there is a need.

"The aid has been distributed to the poor and needy who have sought our help," he said on Friday (May 21).

Koh said locals need not worry as the food kits were sufficient and would be given out upon request.

Separately, a big crowd was seen in three hypermarkets and a wet market since Friday morning.

However, there was no panic buying as speculated in social media as consumers were only purchasing daily essential items.
